Who is
Youth Focus?

Youth Focus, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to helping Guilford County youth and their families learn to deal with today’s pressures. A powerful collaboration of medical professionals, therapists, administrators and volunteers, Youth Focus offers maternity, young women’s, transitional and emergency housing, some covered by insurance or Medicaid, and others available free of charge.

What does Youth Focus do?

Emergency Housing
Youth Focus offers emergency housing facility for male, female and gender nonconforming youth who have runaway, are experiencing a family crisis, are the victims of abuse or neglect, or are homeless for other reasons. Youth receive shelter, as well as medical, psychological, and educational support, in a home-like environment. The children attend public school, most often the school they were currently attending, and participate in a wide variety of both on and off campus recreational, cultural and social activities.
Supportive Housing
Youth Focus offers supportive housing to young adults who find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons and require additional assistance to gain needed independent living skills so they can successfully support themselves.
Safe Place
Youth Focus participates in Safe Place, a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people in need of immediate help and safety. Safe Place locations throughout Guilford County are easily recognized by at-risk youth by their vibrant yellow signs. Safe Place locations include libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses and social service facilities.
