work with Youth Focus

Youth Focus is a local non-profit dedicated to serving Guilford County’s youth and families since 1971. A powerful collaboration of medical professionals, therapists, administrators, and volunteers, Youth Focus offers maternity, young women’s, transitional and emergency housing, and outpatient counseling some covered by insurance or Medicaid, and others available free of charge.

The AmeriCorps Partnership to End Homelessness, a program of The Servant Center, is an energetic, dedicated group of diverse individuals interested in ending homelessness and hunger in Guilford County.  The Servent Center works with Youth Focus to and helps staff our programs with AmeriCorps volunteers.  We currently have a need for three AmeriCorps members; Act TogetherMy Sister Susan’s House, and as a Safe Place Liason.

Our 20+ members are from different backgrounds, are different ages, and come with different strengths but have one shared goal — to restore hope and make a positive difference in the lives of our community! Members are able to serve in a variety of ways in various nonprofits in Guilford and Forsyth Counties.

In the very near future Youth Focus facilities will be open for tours.  Stay tuned for more details! 

Volunteer with Us

It takes a village, and Youth Focus is appreciative of any and all community support. Individuals, groups and corporations are all equally appreciated and needed volunteers.

  • Tutoring and mentoring youth
  • Skilled beauticians to help youth with their hair
  • Remodeling the rest rooms at our emergency shelters
  • Provide a meal for our Act Together Supper Club
  • Yard work and gardening
  • Paint a mural on the wall in one of our facilities
  • Help clean, organize and repair facilities
Given the current state and local guidelines for COVID-19, Youth Focus has temporarily suspended all on-site visitors and volunteers. This does NOT include clients or those accompanying clients to appointments. Those coming on-site will be asked to wear a mask for the duration of the appointment and limit the number of accompanying guests. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the safety of our youth and staff.
