Support Youth Focus at GRAWL-O-WEEN

We are excited to see you tonight at GRAWL!

Advanced registration has closed but you can still get tickets at the door.

Back after a pandemic hiatus, the Greensboro Arm Wrestling League brings you GRAWL Brawl XIV: GRAWLoween, an arm wrestling event to benefit Youth Focus’s Act Together Shelter for teens.

All admission proceeds will be a donation to Act Together as well as any donations made at the event.

Join us on October 29th at Oden Brewing Company for this fun event that benefits Youth Focus’ Act Together Crisis Care. Doors open at 8 pm and the event begins at 9.  Weather permitting, this event will be held outdoors in the Oden beer garden. Halloween costumes are encouraged.

This Halloween-themed, all ages event will be a battle of mythical proportions, with a group of magical creatures battling a team of gorgeous cyborgs. Come see Smother Earth, the Fairy Bod Mother, Kraken Skullz, and Father Figure take on Ruth Bader Ginsborg, Toy Soldier, Amazon Prime, and K9, wrestling on behalf of Youth Focus.

How Youth Focus serves the Triad

Youth Focus creates safe places for vulnerable youth in crisis. Programs for youth include a crisis shelter that operates around-the-clock 365 days a year, three supportive housing programs for youth experiencing homelessness, an outpatient counseling program, and the Safe Place program. Sustainable funding is vital to keeping our doors open for youth in crisis, and we depend on financial support from our local community. Funding is provided by government grants, corporations and foundations, and individuals like you.

Emergency Housing

Act Together is an emergency housing facility for youth who have run away, are experiencing a family crisis, are the victims of abuse or neglect, or are homeless for other reasons.

Supportive Housing

This program provides rent assistance for homeless youth ages 18-24 in independent apartments with a lease in their name. While enrolled, these young adults will receive help build independent living skills.

Outpatient Counseling

Safe Haven Outpatient Counseling provides free counseling to youth ages 6 to 24.  This often includes victims of physical violence, bullying, sexual assault, rape; mental, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse or neglect; and youth who have witnessed domestic violence or local gang violence.

Safe Place

Youth Focus participates in Safe Place, a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people who need immediate help and safety. Safe Place locations throughout Guilford County are easily recognized by at-risk youth with their vibrant yellow signs.

Transitional Living

Youth Focus offers supportive housing to young adults who find themselves homeless for various reasons and require additional assistance to gain needed independent living skills so they can successfully support themselves.

Maternity Housing

My Sister Susan’s House offers transitional housing to pregnant women between the ages of 16 and 21.

The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is not support Youth Focus.
