The trauma therapist will work on-site at the Youth Focus program, Act Together Crisis Care providing counseling and appropriate trauma-informed professional services with youth and all available family members utilizing a variety of counseling approaches and techniques. 

• Assists families and clients in establishing service goals and documents procedures for attaining goals. 
• Participates in, and completes, the Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy rostering process and any other trauma informed trainings as assigned. 
• Prepares and maintains case records relative to assigned work and within set time limits. 
• Responsible for ensuring documentation, assessment, and data collection for billing purposes. 
• Secures all necessary written consent for services. 
• Counsels clients on an individual, group and family basis to assist in task-oriented, problem-solving skills. 
• Confers with staff for background information to determine if and how Youth Focus/ Alexander Youth Network can best serve the needs of the client. 
• Conducts client follow-up. 
• Provides case management and crisis intervention when needed. 
• May provide outside support systems.
• Must be available to respond to family emergencies twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by telephone.
• Participates in on call rotation to provide afterhours crisis response to clients and families.
• Provides the family appropriate contact information. 
• Participates in agency and clinical staff meetings and in-service training sessions as needed or directed.
• Assists in educating potential referral sources with regard to admissions criteria and referral procedures. 
• May supervise one or more special programs, such as an outreach group, or other programs.
• Will provide therapeutic coaching to staff working on site in programs with youth.
• May work on special projects for program development.
• Maintains sensitivity to cultural differences with client population. 
• Monday-Friday: Noon-8:00pm with flexibility

The Crisis Care Professional must demonstrate the Agency’s purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures.  The Crisis Care Professional works as a team member and oversees the day-to-day activities and needs of the clients in their care.  Leads and directs less experienced staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

The Lead Program Coach must demonstrate the Agency’s purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures. The Lead Program Coach works as a team member and provides services for clientsin the MSSH Program. The Lead Program Coach provides direct care to residents on-site and assists them with developing independent living skills and other domains to prepare for self-sufficiency. This position works 2^nd shift, Monday-Friday.
